Audio Engineer

Though Maggie began songwriting as a personal creative endeavor, she has since developed it into a professional career, working as a commissioned songwriter both independently and through NashVox Studios. Her songwriting emphasis at Belmont University has equipped her to move beyond writing solely from her own experiences and step into the perspective of those she works with. By listening closely to each client’s experiences, emotions, and intentions, Maggie is able to transform their story into a song that feels personal, authentic, and true to their voice.

Songwriter

With a strong ability to connect emotionally with a piece, Maggie doesn’t just know how to record a song—she knows how to shape it. Working out of Nashvox Studios, she draws on her vocal expertise to bring out the best in each singer, her knowledge of music theory to communicate effectively with session musicians, and her songwriting experience to ensure the client’s message comes through clearly and authentically.

By bringing these skills together, Maggie helps create recordings that capture the emotional rawness and authenticity of the song while maintaining the polish and clarity needed for effective demo pitching.

Schedule

Maggie began exploring her artistry at sixteen, using songwriting and performance as a way to discover her own musical voice. Through years of experimentation and experience, she has developed a sound that defies easy categorization—blending the expressive creativity and soulful character of early jazz and blues with the infectious energy and accessibility of modern pop.

Maggie’s sound is unmistakably her own, marked by warm, expressive vocals, thoughtful lyricism, and instrumentation shaped by the jazz and blues traditions that helped form her as an artist. At the heart of her music is an emphasis on emotional honesty. Her songs explore the nuances of personal growth, relationships, identity, and self-expression, finding meaning in both life's defining moments and the smaller emotions that surround them.

Though her vocal style has drawn comparisons to Adele, Fiona Apple, and Ella Fitzgerald, Maggie grew up listening to a combination of rap and country music. Artists like Carrie Underwood and Miranda Lambert, in particular, helped shape her songwriting approach. Rather than recreating the sounds of her influences, Maggie draws from their emotional conviction and storytelling, weaving those qualities into a style that is distinctly her own.

With each new song, Maggie continues to explore the boundaries of her creativity, evolving as both a songwriter and vocalist while remaining committed to authenticity in everything she creates. Her hands-on, DIY approach keeps her closely connected to each stage of the creative process, while the community of musicians and supporters around her often becomes part of the music itself.

Whether performing live, writing, or stepping behind the microphone in the studio, Maggie Knight brings a sense of raw honesty, warmth, and vibrant musicality to her work. The result is music that honors the sounds that shaped her while continuing to evolve into something entirely her own.
